Quality Control of Nucleic Acids

The quality and quantity of nucleic acids is monitored using 2100
Bioanalyzer (Agilent Technologies) that is based on lab-on-chip
microfluidic technology. Bioanalyzer gives accurate information about the
RNA quality from as small as 50 pg/µl quantity.
BMGen uses Bioanalyzer to assess the rate of RNA degradation, ribosomal
contamination of mRNA, the success rate of cRNA fragmentation prior to
microarray hybridization and the amount of miRNA. In addition to RNA
applications, BMGen offers Bioanalyzer services to measure the size of
cDNA and DNA fragments with a range of 25-12,000 base pairs.
